Sales Representative

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and experienced Inside Sales Representative! De Vereenigde Oliefabrieken was founded in 1826 and has traditionally been a family-owned business and a globally established name in the world of oils and fats.

We operate internationally and supply a wide range of products such as oils, margarines, and sauces. Our main sales markets are West Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Our customers are active in both the food and non-food sectors. Our primary goal is to satisfy our customers and relieve them of as many concerns as possible. We do this by managing the entire process up to delivery in the country of destination.

In this role, you will support the Commercial Field Sales Representative, while also being able to handle matters independently and take initiative. This is a varied and dynamic full-time office position within a small team (3 people), where no day is the same. The position is for 38.75 hours per week. Working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

What do we ask?
  • Preferably a candidate with a completed MBO or HBO education; HBO level of working and thinking
  • Someone who works accurately, systematically, and in a structured manner
  • A flexible, independent, and assertive attitude
  • A solution-oriented and service-minded approach
  • Strong numerical and commercial insight
  • Relevant work experience in a similar position is required
  • Knowledge of international business is required; familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms)
  • A flexible attitude towards our diverse customer base
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of multiple languages; English is required, French is a plus
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language
Your responsibilities will include, among others:
  • Maintaining contact with customers and suppliers
  • Monitoring credit limits
  • Preparing quotations
  • Exploring new markets and seizing opportunities
  • Supporting the sales colleague while also being able to work independently
  • Monitoring the order process
  • Supervising colleagues responsible for contract settlement
  • Option to independently visit trade fairs and customers abroad
